Jay-Z & Lawsuit With Volcom

“Apparently Jay-z has more than 99 problems, one of those problems being infringing on the Volcom trademark. When Jay-z screams “put your diamonds in the air,” the crowd goes crazy and follows his lead. Volcom claims that they have spent more than $100,000,000 in marketing their diamond logo; are heavily involved with promoting live and recorded music and, sell their merchandise from similar retailers. Jay-z’ Roc Nation label began using their own diamond-shaped logo in 2009 and has ignored requests from others to discontinue using the logo. Volcom has responded by claiming a lawsuit against Roc Nation`s diamond-shaped logo and states that it looks too similar to their Volcom Stone logo which, they’ve been using since 1991.” - Contra Mag
